Role Description The Assistant Resident Engineer (Mechanical) is a full-time, on-site role based in WP. Kuala Lumpur. This role supports the Resident Engineer in overseeing mechanical engineering works on project sites, ensuring compliance with design specifications, standards, and safety regulations. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring construction and installation activities, reviewing technical drawings and documentation, and coordinating with contractors, consultants, and clients to resolve mechanical-related issues. The position involves conducting inspections, preparing site reports, assisting with testing and commissioning of mechanical systems, and tracking project progress against schedules. The Assistant Resident Engineer also contributes to troubleshooting, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of mechanical engineering solutions throughout the project lifecycle.

Specific Minimum Requirements 15 years of experience, Degree in Mechanical Engineer, strong background in sewage treatment and water treatment

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in mechanical engineering, including Mechanical Engineering and Machine Design skills.
• Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for reviewing, interpreting, and coordinating mechanical drawings.
• Experience or training in Project Management for planning, coordination, and monitoring of site activities.
• Ability to contribute to Research and Development (R&D) efforts, including problem-solving and technical optimization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent relevant qualification.
• Knowledge of relevant local codes, standards, and safety regulations for mechanical works.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to work independently under site conditions.
• Previous experience in site supervision or consultancy for mechanical systems is an advantage.
