Job Overview

We are seeking a Network Build Engineer to provide network design and implementation strategies, migration plans, and technical project support across projects of varying complexity. The role covers hands-on configuration for new deployments, network and security design within secure multi-tenant cloud environments, documentation and knowledge transfer to Network Operations, and technical leadership across solution delivery and stakeholder engagement.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Network Design & Implementation

• Provide network design and implementation strategies, migration plans, and technical project support for low to high level complexity projects.
• Test and evaluate network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements.
• Perform hands-on configurations for new deployments.
• Design, implement and manage the network and security systems within a secure multi-tenant cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) environment.
• Work in support of implementing standard designs from the Network Engineering team for infrastructure projects, including configuring, troubleshooting, documentation, optimization and requirements gathering for Network Operations.

Documentation, Deployment & Operational Support

• Prepare Business Cases, financial analysis spreadsheets, deployment plans, and detailed bills of materials for presentation to Leadership for review of new deployments.
• Prepare Build documents and Operational Support procedures and perform knowledge transfer to Network Operations to ensure smooth onboarding of new deployments.
• Provide direct support, including after hours, for new deployments not yet transitioned into the Network Operations team.
• Provide support, including after hours, for Tier 3 escalated operational issues.
• Provide engineering expertise in identifying process improvement and automation opportunities.

Technical Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

• Provide technical guidance for broader solution delivery initiatives.
• Maintain deep technical knowledge of different network and cloud technologies and supporting solution areas, and develop new technology integrations and solution capabilities.
• Convey technical information and solutions to audiences using whiteboards, presentations, or written communications in a workshop format.
• Engage in executive and technical-level communications and relationship building to gain credibility and trust with internal and external customers.
• Consult, assess, audit, design, and interview stakeholders to resolve highly technical requirements.
• Research, evaluate and stay ahead of the curve on emerging tools, techniques, and technologies.
• Demonstrate a consultative mindset with strong listening and collaboration skills for uncovering unmet technology needs and translating requirements into strategic solutions.

Job Specification

Technical Skills

• Expert-level hands-on configuration of networking equipment, management tools and network analyzers.
• Ability to write detailed methods of procedure and maintain documentation, including creating Visio/Lucid Charts diagrams.
• Expert knowledge of Layer 3 technologies, including IPv4, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, PIM, HSRP, DMVPN, NHRP, and GETVPN.
• Expert knowledge of Layer 2 technologies, including Spanning-Tree, VLANs, QinQ, and Dot1q.
• Operational experience with load-balancing technologies and platforms such as Citrix, F5, and similar.
• Expert-level knowledge and experience with Checkpoint & Fortinet firewalls.
• Operational experience with Proxy, WAF & IPS technologies.
• Good knowledge of Cloud Networking technologies is strongly preferred.
• Extensive experience working remotely in a self-managed environment.
• Experience with an Agile Scrum framework, with the ability to work on stories in sprints.
• Network Automation experience with Python and/or Ansible strongly preferred.

Certifications

• Cisco CCNP certification skillset level preferred.

Experience Required

• 5-7 years of validated experience in managing, provisioning, and implementing network and network security technologies in a large, globally diverse environment.

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
