Job Overview:
The Mainframe Communication Server System Engineer participates in the design, development, and implementation of mainframe network systems (TCP/IP and SNA/APPN) engineering activities, including OS technical support, systems programming, and data centre support activities, and is responsible for components of complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Mainframe Network Engineering
- Participate in the design, development, and implementation of mainframe network systems (TCP/IP and SNA/APPN) engineering activities.
- Support mainframe connectivity design considerations.
Systems Programming & OS Support
- Provide OS technical support and systems programming for the MVS or z/OS Operating System.
- Configure, support, and tune the z/OS Operating System and system products such as CICS, DB, Scheduling, and Software Application management tools.
Data Centre & Operational Support
- Provide data centre support activities and handle components of complex engineering and/or analytical tasks.
- Support printer setup activities.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotational support as part of BAU operations.
Job Specification
Must-Have Skills
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of TCP & SNA communications.
- Networking, problem-solving, and protocol skills, with an understanding of mainframe communication concepts.
- Ability to support mainframe connectivity design considerations.
- Printer setup experience.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Knowledge of IBM zEnterprise server hardware.
- Knowledge of REXX and/or SAS programming.
- Knowledge of encryption technologies and certificate management (AT-TLS/KEYRINGs, etc.).
- Understanding of banking or financial business.
Experience Required
- 5–7 years in support and/or implementation of mainframe network engineering activities in a z/OS environment.
- Minimum 3–4 years of Systems Programming experience in z/OS.
Generic Managerial Skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good analytical skills and ability to work under pressure.
Education
- Information Technology degree and/or technology certifications preferred, or substantial equivalent experience.
Job Details
- Location: Cyberjaya.
- Working Arrangement: BAU with 24x7 On-Call support.
- Working Hours: 9AM to 5PM MYT (and rotational on-call).
- Work Mode: Hybrid.
Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM11,000.00 per month
