Assistant Football Coach to support the Main Instructor in delivering Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) training for Primary and Secondary students.
Key Responsibilities
Coaching & Operations: Assist in planning and delivering structured sessions to build technical skills (dribbling, passing, shooting), tactics, and fitness. Manage equipment logistics before and after training, and provide focused instruction to diverse learners.
Character Development & Welfare: Collaborate with school staff to instil core values (WISE, RISE) and fair play. Ensure student safety, support team dynamics, and build camaraderie.
Competitions & Match Days: Assist with talent identification, CCA trials, and preparation for the National School Games (NSG). Arrive early to lead warm-ups, manage substitutes, and serve as a reliable backup coach if the Main Instructor is unavailable.
Administration: Support the Main Coach in drafting the CCA Student Development Plan and maintain clear communication with Teachers-in-Charge and the HOD (PE & CCA).
Working Conditions & Schedule
Contract: Initial base period with annual renewal options.
Schedule: Weekday mornings (e.g., 07:50–09:20) or afternoons (e.g., 15:45–18:15). Training is suspended during public/school holidays and exam periods.
Time Commitment: Variable based on assignment. Typically 45–120 annual hours for standard sessions, plus an estimated 30 additional hours for key milestone events (camps, competitions, NSG season).
Requirements
Prior experience playing or assisting in football coaching, with a solid grasp of fundamental rules and skills.
Ability to effectively engage and instruct youths from Primary 3 to Secondary 5.
Proactive, highly organized team player dedicated to equipment management and student safety.
Valid first-aid certification and relevant coaching credentials (e.g., grassroots licenses) are highly advantageous.
