Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) position at Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang, Malaysia. The successful candidate will be expected to register for the MA in Education (TESOL) programme at USM and undertake a Master’s research project related to the funded research project. The GRA will assist with activities such as literature reviews, data collection and analysis, research documentation, preparation of manuscripts and presentations, and other research-related tasks. The candidate will work closely with the project supervisor and contribute to the successful implementation and completion of the research project.

This is not a remote position, and the successful candidate should be available to commence as soon as possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in TESOL, English Language Education, Education, Applied Linguistics, or a related field
• Eligible and willing to enrol in the MA in Education (TESOL) programme at USM
• Strong interest in research, particularly in TESOL / English language education
• Good academic writing and communication skills in English
• Ability to conduct literature reviews and support qualitative and/or quantitative data collection and analysis
• Good organisational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the research team
• Responsible, self-motivated, and able to meet research and postgraduate study deadlines
