Hi, I'm Jon, the owner of Homeground Gym & PT.

I'm looking for someone to join our team who genuinely enjoys working with people, takes pride in the environment around them, and wants to grow together with a young and growing fitness business.

This is not just a front-desk job.

You'll be an important part of how our members and prospects experience Homeground — from their first WhatsApp conversation with us, to walking through our doors, to eventually becoming a long-term gym member or Personal Training client.

You don't need to be fantastic at everything from Day 1.

What matters much more to me is that you're quick to learn, hardworking, warm with people, able to think 2–3 steps ahead, and willing to take ownership without always waiting to be told what to do.

There will be proper medium- and long-term career progression for the right person as the business grows.

What You'll Be Doing

Member Experience & Customer Service

  • Welcome members and prospects and make them feel comfortable in the gym.

  • Speak to prospects to understand what they actually need before recommending a suitable gym membership or Personal Training option.

  • Respond to enquiries in person and through WhatsApp.

  • Follow up with prospective members and PT clients.

  • Conduct gym tours.

  • Help convert suitable prospects into gym members and PT trial clients.

  • Handle member questions, feedback and complaints tactfully.

  • Build genuine relationships with our members and contribute to a friendly and welcoming gym environment.

We don't believe in aggressively pushing people to buy.

We want you to listen, understand, and recommend. If we're suitable for someone, help them understand why. If we're not, don't force it.

You don't need to already be a fantastic salesperson. We'll teach you our products, processes and approach. What's more important is that you're willing and able to learn.

Gym Operations

You'll also help make sure our gyms remain some of the best places for our members to train.

This includes:

  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, tidiness and presentation.

  • Spotting problems and resolving them before they become bigger problems.

  • Ensuring supplies, stock and inventory are always sufficient.

  • Opening and closing duties.

  • General administrative work.

  • Supporting day-to-day gym operations.

  • Working closely with our Personal Trainers and management team.

  • Helping solve operational issues instead of simply passing every problem to the owner or gym manager.

We want someone who notices things.

If something is out of place, fix it. If supplies are running low, don't wait until they're gone. If you notice a recurring problem, think about how we can prevent it from happening again.

Social Media & Content

If you have an interest or experience in social media, photography, videography or content editing, that's a big plus.

You may have opportunities to assist the owner with:

  • Filming simple gym and trainer content.

  • Taking photos and videos.

  • Editing short-form content.

  • Helping document what happens behind the scenes at Homeground.

Experience here is a bonus, not a requirement.

The Person We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in someone who:

  • Has a natural flair for customer service.

  • Takes initiative instead of always waiting for instructions.

  • Can think 2–3 steps ahead.

  • Notices when something isn't right and does something about it.

  • Learns quickly and is willing to learn new things.

  • Communicates early when something goes wrong.

  • Takes ownership of the environment around them.

  • Is tactful and composed when dealing with different personalities.

  • Is hardworking, ambitious and hungry to improve.

  • Can work independently while still being a strong team player.

  • Understands that no task is "beneath them" when something needs to be done.

  • Looks for solutions instead of simply passing problems upwards.

  • Cares about doing what's best for our members and the team.

You do not need to be an experienced salesperson.

You also do not need to know everything from Day 1.

I'd much rather work with someone who is hungry, learns quickly and continuously improves than someone who has years of experience but no longer wants to grow.

Gym/Fitness Experience

You should have some familiarity with a gym environment.

This could come from:

  • Previous employment in a gym or fitness studio.

  • Customer service/member experience work within the fitness industry.

  • Being a regular gym-goer yourself.

  • Previous experience as a Personal Trainer or fitness professional.

If you have previously worked as a Personal Trainer, that's an excellent bonus — but you will not be required to work as a PT in this role. If you want to, even better.

Working Arrangements

  • Full-time position.

  • 5 or 5.5-day work week, depending on arrangement.

  • Typical working hours: 12:00pm–9:30pm.

  • Approximately 75% Bishan / 25% Clementi.

  • Each working day will generally be dedicated to one location. You will not normally be expected to travel between both gyms during the same shift.

  • There is a direct bus connection between our Bishan and Clementi locations.

  • Deployment between both locations may be adjusted according to operational needs.

Salary, Commission & Eligibility

Basic Salary: $2,500–$3,000/month + CPF + Performance Commission, depending on experience and suitability.

In addition to your basic salary, there will be opportunities to earn monthly performance-based commission when agreed gym performance targets are achieved.

These incentives will primarily be tied to areas such as:

  • Maintaining or achieving a target number of active gym members.

  • Maintaining or achieving a target number of active Personal Training (PT) clients.

  • Other relevant gym performance targets that may be introduced as the role develops.

This is deliberately not designed to reward aggressive selling.

We want you to understand prospects, recommend what genuinely suits them, follow up well and contribute to an experience that makes people want to join — and stay with — Homeground.

Your role isn't just about bringing new people through the door. Member experience, retention and the overall health of the gym matter too.

Eligibility

We welcome applications from:

  • Singapore Citizens — CPF contributions will be provided in accordance with prevailing CPF requirements.

  • Singapore Permanent Residents — CPF contributions will be provided in accordance with prevailing CPF requirements.

  • Malaysian candidates eligible for a Singapore Work Permit — Work Permit sponsorship is available for suitable candidates. The required Work Permit levy and medical insurance will be fully borne by the company.

The stated $2,500–$3,000 is the monthly basic salary before employee CPF deductions (where applicable). Employer CPF contributions, Work Permit levy and employer-paid insurance are additional costs borne by the company where applicable.

Career Progression

I'm not looking for someone who simply wants to clock in, complete a list of tasks and go home.

I'm hoping to find someone who wants to become increasingly valuable to the team as Homeground grows.

For the right person, there will be opportunities to gradually take on greater responsibility in areas such as:

Member Experience → Gym Operations → Senior Operations / Assistant Management → Branch Management

Your progression will depend on your performance, ability and willingness to take ownership, not simply how long you've worked here.

As Homeground grows, I want the people who helped us build it to have the opportunity to grow with it.

How We Work

We're building a team where Personal Trainers, operations staff and management work together.

There shouldn't be a mentality of:

"That's not my job."

If something can be improved for our members, we work together to improve it.

If something goes wrong, we communicate early and solve it.

If you see something that needs to be done, you don't always need to wait for someone to tell you.

The sole purpose behind our decisions should be to make Homeground better for the people who choose to train with us.

Every decision should ultimately help us become a better gym for our members.

How to Apply

If this sounds like the kind of environment you would thrive in, I'd love to hear from you.

WhatsApp me directly at +************* 4515 with:

  1. Your resume

  2. A short cover letter telling me a little about yourself, why you're interested in this role, and why you think you'd be a good fit for our team.

Your cover letter doesn't need to be formal. You can send it as a PDF or simply write it as a WhatsApp message.

I'm more interested in understanding who you are, how you think, and what you're looking to build for yourself than receiving a perfectly written cover letter.

Please send both your resume and short introduction when applying!
