Job Summary
You will own end-to-end accounting for overseas trading entities and cross-border transactions, focusing on receivables, payables, intercompany settlements, bank reconciliations, and month-end close for international desks. You will partner with Traders, Treasury, Finance Shared Services, and local country teams to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounts receivable and payable for overseas accounts by performing invoicing, collections follow-up, credit control, vendor payments, and reconciling trade receivables and payables to ensure accurate financial records
- Perform month-end close activities for overseas entities, including account reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and supporting consolidation processes to meet reporting deadlines
- Execute intercompany billing and settlements, apply foreign exchange remeasurement, and accurately account for freight, demurrage, and other voyage-related costs to maintain compliance and financial accuracy
- Coordinate with Treasury and banks on collections, letters of credit receipts and payments, and cash application for cross-border cash flows to optimize liquidity management
- Support tax, VAT/GST, and local statutory reporting by collaborating with country finance leads and external advisors to ensure regulatory compliance
- Drive process improvements and strengthen controls for overseas accounting workflows by developing and maintaining documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Required competencies and certifications
- Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4 to 7 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 to 3 years managing international or multicountry accounts, trade accounting, or treasury-linked accounting for trading or logistics businesses
- Proficient knowledge of accounts receivable and payable processes, intercompany accounting, month-end close, and trade transactions
- Experience with foreign exchange accounting and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle NetSuite
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
- Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills to collaborate across time zones and cultures
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Professional accounting certification such as CPA, CA, ACCA, or CIMA
