Structural Engineer – Steel & Concrete Design

Ark Engineering Group is expanding its engineering team in Miri, Sarawak, and we are looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

* Design and size steel structural members, including beams, columns, braces and other structural elements.

* Perform concrete design for structural elements such as slabs and foundations.

* Prepare structural calculations, design documentation and technical reports.

* Develop and detail steel structures using Autodesk Advance Steel.

* Design and check non-standard steel connections and provide appropriate engineering solutions.

* Review structural drawings and ensure designs comply with relevant design standards and project requirements.

* Coordinate with engineers, designers and other disciplines to ensure structural designs are practical and constructible.

* Provide technical support during fabrication, construction and project execution where required.

Requirements

* Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.

* 3–5 years or more of relevant structural engineering experience.

* Strong experience in steel structure and concrete design.

* Proficiency in Autodesk Advance Steel is highly preferred.

* Experience in steel connection design and checking, particularly non-standard connections.

* Good understanding of structural analysis, engineering calculations and relevant design standards.

* Ability to read, interpret and produce structural drawings.

* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

* Good command of English, both written and spoken.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Advantageous

* Experience with Australian Standards (AS/NZS).

* Experience working on Australian or international engineering projects.

* Familiarity with structural analysis/design software such as Space Gass

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Probation: 3 months
