Role Description This full-time, on-site Database Administrator role is based in Petaling Jaya. The Database Administrator will manage, maintain, and optimize multiple database platforms, ensuring high availability, security, and performance for internal systems and client environments. Responsibilities include monitoring database health, performing backups and restores, managing user access and security configurations, and implementing replication and recovery strategies. The role involves troubleshooting database issues, supporting application teams with database design and query optimization, and documenting configurations, procedures, and best practices. The Database Administrator will collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to support projects, upgrades, and integrations aligned with DLAB’s database and security solutions.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Database Administration and Databases, including managing, securing, and maintaining diverse database platforms.
- Candidates should possess skills in Database Design and Replication to support scalable architectures, data integrity, and high availability solutions.
- Candidates should possess skills in Troubleshooting to diagnose performance, connectivity, and configuration issues across complex database environments.
- Experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, MySQL, or similar relational database systems is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of database security, encryption, backup and recovery, and performance tuning practices is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, with clear written and verbal communication.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle, Microsoft, IBM) and a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field are advantageous.
