About the role:
We are looking for a meticulous and organized Production Engineering (PE) Assistant to join our team. This role focuses heavily on technical writing, process standardization, and document management. You will work closely with production engineers and shop-floor teams to create, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality records, ensuring our manufacturing processes are clearly documented and compliant.
Key Responsibilities :
1. SOP and Technical Documentation Development
Write, format, and update clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), assembly instructions, and safety guidelines for the production floor.
Create step-by-step visual guides, flowcharts, and diagrams to help machine operators easily understand complex assembly and manufacturing steps.
Document existing production workflows and map out changes when new equipment or processes are introduced.
2. Document Control and Management
Maintain a centralized, organized filing system (digital and physical) for all engineering documents, ensuring operators always use the most current versions. Coordinate periodic reviews of all operational documents with production supervisors and engineers to ensure they reflect current best practices.
Prepare and organize documentation packages to ensure full compliance with internal quality standards and ISO requirements.
3. Data Collection and Reporting
Log production metrics, process changes, cycle times, and scrap/defect data into company databases or logs.
Keep accurate records of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and track their implementation timeline on the shop floor.
Assist engineers by compiling data and drafting routine performance, quality, or process-audit reports.
4. Production Floor Support and Training Coordination
Training Handouts: Compile training materials and packets for newly onboarded operators based on approved SOPs.
Regularly visit the production floor to observe processes firsthand, gathering feedback from operators to make technical documents more practical and user-friendly.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a role involving document control or quality assurance (fresh graduates with strong administrative-technical skills are welcome to apply).
