AmAssurance Bhd - Kelantan

Amlife Insurance Berhad (AmLife) is a renowned life insurer in the local insurance industry. Backed by one of Malaysia's largest banking groups, AmBank Group, AmLife is growing bigger and stronger with its fast growing customer base and innovative products and services.

AmLife was incoperated on 17 September 1973 as The First Life Insurance Company (M) Berhad. Since then it has undergone verious restructurings and names changes; Prima Assurance Berhad on 30 December 1982, Arab-Malaysia Eagle Assurance Berhad on 5 June 1986 and then to Arab-Malaysia Assurance Berhad on 5 September 1994. In June 2002, the Arab-Malaysia Banking Group embarked on rebranding exercise that involved a name change to AmBank Group and adopting new corporate colours of red and yellow, to reflect a new resolve to be bigger, better and simpler. in line with exersice, Arab-Malaysia Assurance Berhad changed its name to AmAssurance Berhad on 10 June 2002.

The general insurance operations can be traced back to the TUGU Insurance Company Sdn. Bhd., which was incorporated on 13 December 1973. Following a scheme of merger in June 1986, both the life and general insurance operations were brought together under the ambit of a single company to provide a comprehensive range of life and general insurance services.

On 1 December 2008, AmAssurance Berhad further recognised its business portfolio into two specialised companies. The general insurance operations are now undertaken by AmGeneral Insurance Berhad while life insurance operations are now undertaken by AmLife. However, both companies still carry the brand name of AmAssurance. 

Over the Year, AmLife has bagged many prestigiuos awards such as the Superior Company in the Business of the Year Awards 2007, Asia Pasific Outstanding Entrepreneuship Awards 2008 and Most Prominent Company in Malasyia Independence Award 2009.

AmLife's business is generated from a comprehensive range of life insurance and wealth protection solutions distributed through the Group's network of over 200 AmBank and AmAssurance branded offices, in addition to the strength of its authorised life insurance agents nationwide.
