ARTEFACT PROJECTS, a private company incorporated in 1987 began its advent in the world of financial services in a modest way. In less than a decade of foray into Infrastructure services sector, the company flourished to establish itself as a leading public limited corporate entity in Central India with stocks being listed on the Mumbai Stock Exchange.With the emerging of the privately managed infrastructure development sector, ARTEFACT PROJECTS, inspired by ¡¥Vishwakarma¡¦, the engineering deity revered in India, undertook the challenge to establish itself in the field of consultancy for infrastructure and specialization in privatization projects.From finance to infrastructure development the company graduated to an up scaling in the services sector. In keeping with its new found agenda ARTEFACT PROJECTS was formally established as a separate division of ARTEFACT SOFTWARE AND FINANCE LIMITED. In 1998 itself the company obtained substantial assignments. A Techno-Economic Feasibility report for privatization on BOT basis of 120 Mld Water Supply scheme for the city of Nagpur at a Project Cost of Rs. 510 crores from NMC (ULB) was completed. The company also obtained social Infrastructure and Township development assignments on BOT (privatization) basis from NMC for the city of Nagpur for planning, designing and implementation services with a total project cost exceeding Rs 110 crores, which included Civic Centre, Public Hospital, Public Library, Public Auditorium, specialized Hawker markets, Daily Vegetable Markets, Commercial Zones and other public utilities. In the year 2000, the company received its first Road sector assignment of services from Madhya Pradesh Rajya Setu Nirman Nigam (Now Madhya Pradesh State Road Development Corporation) for complete design and drawing approvals for State Highway in MHOW Ghatabilod Road near Pitampur in Indore District, having a project construction cost of Rs 18 crores. The company also executed a long term Joint Venture cum Collaboration Agreement with Zaidun Leeng. Sdn. Bhd., in the year 2000. From thereon, there has been a substantial progress both in the number of projects awarded and large, reputed consultancy organizations with whom Artefact joined hands to create its technical and physical competences for rendering infrastructure project services, hitherto not practiced in India.Promoted by a group of first generation professional entrepreneurs with engineering, techno-commercial, legal and financial backgrounds, the company soon emerged as a leading multi-discipline engineering consultancy organization. In fact past 5 years gross revenue receipts from this division exceed 90% of company¡¦s income.Presently, the company is providing project services for major projects for highways, for civil infrastructure and townships. The company is involved in rendering project services for highways and bridges, Airports, residential townships and other infrastructure projects. Along with, it is providing advisory and management services.ARTEFACT PROJECTS covers the whole range of disciplines and project responsibilities that include the primary survey, investigation, preparation of detailed engineering reports through detailed design, specification, contract and bid management, financial closures for privatization projects, financial, legal, supervision and quality control, marketing assistance, project management as well as handing over the complete project to the client.Most of the projects are on Build Operate Transfer (BOT) / Annuity basis with substantial expertise required for the privatization process. Since the year 2001, the Company¡¦s Project Services receipts have grown by more than 455 % from Rs. 25.98 millions in FY ¡V 2000 ¡V 01 to Rs. 144.17 millions in FY ¡V 2005-06. The company¡¦s Net Worth is in excess of Rs. 79.40 Millions as on March 2006. It also enjoy bank facilities where banking support to the company including fund & non-fund based limits are in excess of Rs. 130.00 Millions. The gross turnover of the company during the 2005-06 was Rs. 144.20 Millions. The Company has Revenue visibility to the extent of Contracted fees for project services of more than Rs.12 Billions, to be executed in next 3 to 4 years which can easily cover its operating costs and margins for at least next 5 years of foreseeable future.
