AseaCyte Sdn Bhd is a biotechnology Company specialising in cell biology and cell culture technologyand will use this specialism to deliver cell-based products and cell-based analytical services to customers in the pharmaceutical, natural product drug discovery, healthcare and food industries.  The Company’s business is founded on the principle that advances in cell culture technology enable the development of physiologically-relevant alternatives to animal testing in research, drug discovery and natural product evaluation.  That principle is illustrated in AseaCyte’s cell-based assays and customised cell culture systems, which have application in the evaluation of potential therapeutics for major human diseases, including those from novel sources e.g. tropical plant extracts, in testing of new biomaterials and in the quality-control of traditional medicines.

AseaCyte will operate primarily as a marketing and sales activity during its first year of trading.  Service business, in the form of cell-based analysis, will be contracted to one or both of the founding investors, CARIF (Malaysia) or AvantiCell Science Ltd (UK).  Product sales will be based upon products in the form of cell isolates and proprietary culture media supplied by AvantiCell Science on a regular basis and maintained under appropriate temperature-controlled storage in AseaCyte’s premises.  These activities will be the prime responsibility of the Business Development Manager, and will be delivered with appropriate office management support.
