AvantiCell AsiaPacific Sdn Bhd (AAP) is a biotechnology company specialising in human cell biology and cell-based analysis. The Company’s business is founded on the principle that advances in cell culture technology enable the development of physiologically-relevant alternatives to animal testing in research, drug discovery and natural product evaluation. That principle is illustrated in AAP’s cell-based assays and customised cell culture systems, which have application in the testing of potential therapeutics for major human diseases, including those from novel sources e.g. tropical plant extracts, in screening of new biomaterials and in the quality-control of traditional medicines.

AvantiCell AsiaPacific presently operates from premises in the University of Malaya Medical Centre. Its laboratory is fully-enabled to deliver the company’s current commercial business, and to import and apply new cell culture technologies licensed-in from the UK parent company. AAP intends to continue to offer a combination of cell-based screening services alongside the sale of cell products in the forms of cell isolates, proprietary culture media, and user-friendly pre-assembled cell models, the latter making advanced cell-based analysis accessible to experienced and inexperienced operators alike.
