The Kuok Group of Companies began as Kuok Brothers Limited in Malaysia in 1943 as a trader of sugar, rice, wheat and flour. Over the years, the Kuok Group of Companies have expanded to include companies who are involved in the entire maritime value chain, from ship building, maintenance and repair, to ship brokering and management. Apart from the maritime industry, the Kuok Group of Companies also include companies involved in agriculture and fertiliser trading, and property development.

Since 1953, Kuok (Singapore) Limited has been the holding company for the Kuok Group in Southeast Asia, which is a conglomerate of a variety of business specialisation in Shipping, Property, Fertiliser, and significant interests along the Maritime industry value chain. These subsidiaries will include but not limited to; Pacc Offshore Services Holdings Limited (POSH Group), Pacific Carriers Limited (PCL), PaxOcean Group, Allgreen Properties Limited, Agrifert Fertilisers Group.
