Requirements
Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science / Food Technology / related field
Minimum 5 years and above experienceinQA/QC within food manufacturing
Must have strong knowledge in GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, and Halal (JAKIM requirements)
Experienced in handling audits, halal certification, CAPA, and quality systems
Capable to lead QA/QC operations, manage compliance, and supervise staff
Strong in documentation, problem-solving, and decision-making (product release/reject)
Able to act as key person during audits and advisor to management
Responsibilities
A. Quality Assurance & Quality Control
Implement, maintain, and monitor Quality Management System (QMS), GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, and food safety programs.
Conduct incoming raw material inspections, in-process checks, and finished product inspections.
Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) and ensure immediate corrective action for any deviations.
Perform sampling, testing, and quality analysis according to product specifications.
Approve or reject raw materials and finished goods based on established standards.
Ensure proper product labeling, packaging, and traceability compliance.
Review daily production and quality records for accuracy and completeness.
Maintain QA/QC documentation, reports, SOPs, and records.
Handle customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Coordinate internal audits and assist during external audits by regulatory authorities or customers.
Ensure factory hygiene, sanitation, and pest control standards are consistently maintained.
B. Halal Management
Ensure full compliance with halal certification standards and requirements.
Liaise with halal certification authorities (e.g., JAKIM, State Religious Departments).
Manage halal documentation and renewal of halal certificates.
Verify halal status of raw materials and suppliers.
Conduct internal halal audits and monitor halal critical control points.
Ensure proper segregation and handling of halal materials throughout production.
Conduct halal awareness training and ensure staff understanding of halal requirements.
C. Staff Monitoring & Supervision
Monitor production staff to ensure compliance with GMP, hygiene, food safety, and halal procedures.
Conduct routine inspections on personal hygiene, uniform compliance, and production cleanliness.
Ensure staff strictly follow established SOPs and quality standards.
Provide training, guidance, and corrective instruction when non-conformance occurs.
Prepare compliance reports related to staff adherence to quality and halal standards.
Lead or assist in quality and halal briefings/toolbox meetings
