Job Description

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • Possess 3-5 years of proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction or engineering industry.

  • Demonstrate strong proficiency in Quantity Surveying principles and practices, including cost estimation, contract administration, and tender analysis.

  • Skilled in preparing accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and managing construction costs effectively.

  • Experience in project management, procurement processes, and risk management within a construction environment.

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.

  • Fluent in both English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken, to facilitate clear communication across diverse stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with relevant Malaysian construction regulations and contract law is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for various construction projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

  • Conduct detailed cost estimations and feasibility studies for new projects, analyzing project scope, materials, labor, and potential risks to provide reliable budget forecasts.

  • Manage and administer construction contracts, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contract terms to protect the company's interests and ensure project profitability.

  • Analyze tenders received from subcontractors and suppliers, evaluating bids for cost-effectiveness, technical compliance, and overall value to select the most suitable partners.

  • Implement and monitor robust construction cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle, tracking expenditures, identifying variances, and recommending corrective actions to stay within budget.

  • Oversee procurement processes for materials, equipment, and services, ensuring timely delivery and competitive pricing while adhering to company policies and project timelines.

  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to provide cost-related advice, resolve contractual issues, and mitigate financial risks.

  • Prepare regular financial reports and progress updates for senior management, detailing project costs, budget performance, and any potential financial implications.
