JURU PENGIMPAL
Welding & Fabrication
- Perform SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), GTAW/TIG, GMAW/MIG, and FCAW welding processes on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloys.
- Carry out welding works on:
- Ship piping systems
- Structural steel components
- Marine equipment and machinery foundations
- Industrial piping and process systems
- Pressure and non-pressure components
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and fabrication sketches.
- Prepare, cut, fit-up, bevel, and align materials before welding.
- Conduct repair and maintenance welding on vessels, barges, offshore structures, and industrial facilities.
- Fabricate pipe spools, supports, brackets, platforms, and structural assemblies.
Marine & Offshore Responsibilities
- Carry out hot work onboard vessels, dry docks, jetties, and offshore facilities.
- Comply with shipyard regulations and marine safety requirements.
- Participate in vessel repair, retrofit, and modification projects.
- Assist in emergency breakdown repairs and shutdown activities.
Quality Control
- Ensure all welding activities comply with:
Approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Procedure Qualification Records (PQR)
- Applicable codes and standards (ASME, AWS, API, ISO, Class Requirements)
- Perform visual inspections of completed welds.
- Rectify welding defects and perform rework when required.
- Maintain high workmanship standards and minimize material wastage.
Qualifications
- Minimum SPM or equivalent qualification.
- Technical certificate in Welding, Fabrication, or Mechanical Engineering is an advantage.
- Valid welding certifications (AWS, ASME, CSWIP, or equivalent) are preferred.
- Possession of marine safety certificates is an added advantage.
Experience Requirements
Minimum 3 years of experience in welding and fabrication works.
Experience in:
- Ship repair and marine maintenance.
- Industrial plant construction.
- Piping fabrication and installation.
- Structural steel fabrication.
- Offshore and shutdown projects.
Technical Competencies
- Proficient in SMAW, GTAW/TIG, MIG, and FCAW welding.
- Ability to read fabrication and piping drawings.
- Knowledge of welding symbols and fabrication tolerances.
- Familiarity with marine and industrial codes and standards.
- Knowledge of hot work safety procedures.
Working Conditions
- Workshop, shipyard, offshore, and construction site environments.
- Rotational work and extended working hours during shutdowns and vessel repair projects.
- Exposure to heat, noise, confined spaces, and outdoor conditions.
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM3,200.00 per month
