Job Description

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in bookkeeping or accounting support (Australian practice experience highly regarded).

  • Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills.

  • Familiarity with Australian tax basics (ITR preparation, BAS/IAS, ATO processes).

  • High attention to detail, time management, and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Reliable internet connection and suitable remote working setup.

  • Mandarin language proficiency is preferred for this role as this roles will required to liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients and partners.

  • Possess good analytical skills, meticulous, positive working attitude, commitment, and good interpersonal and follow-up skills.

  • Working hour from 7.30am to 4.30pm

Responsibilities

Administration Support

  • Track job progress and update workflow management system (e.g., Xero Practice Manager, FYI).

  • Handle client correspondence, document requests, and file management.

  • Assist with scheduling, follow-ups, and internal reporting.

Bookkeeping

  • Process accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll data entry.

  • Assist with BAS, IAS, STP, and superannuation reporting under accountant review.

  • Maintain accurate accounting records in Xero / MYOB / QuickBooks.

Tax Support

  • Prepare basic individual tax returns (ITRs) for accountant review.

  • Collate supporting documents and ensure compliance with ATO requirements.

ATO Liaison

  • Call and communicate with the ATO on behalf of clients regarding balances, lodgements, and payment plans.

  • Assist accountants in monitoring client tax obligations.
