Requirements
- Minimum Diploma, or Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health, Construction, Engineering, or a related field.
- Possess a valid Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) certificate recognised by DOSH/JKKP Malaysia.
- Previous experience in construction site safety or a similar role is preferred.
- Good knowledge of construction safety procedures, PPE requirements, HIRARC, and safe work practices.
- Familiar with high-risk activities such as working at height, excavation, lifting operations, scaffolding, and electrical works.
- Able to conduct site inspections, toolbox meetings, and safety briefings.
- Good communication, observation, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with workers, subcontractors, and site management.
- Responsible, disciplined, and committed to maintaining a safe working environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily safety inspections at the construction site.
- Monitor workers, subcontractors, and site activities to ensure safe working practices.
- Ensure all workers wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Identify hazards, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions, and take immediate corrective action where necessary.
- Monitor high-risk activities such as working at height, excavation, lifting operations, scaffolding, and electrical works.
- Conduct daily toolbox meetings and safety briefings.
- Ensure safety signage, barricades, warning notices, and site housekeeping are properly maintained.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining HIRARC, inspection checklists, work permits, and other safety records.
- Report accidents, incidents, near misses, and safety concerns to the Site Manager or Safety Officer.
- Follow up on corrective and preventive actions to ensure safety issues are properly addressed.
- Ensure subcontractors comply with company safety procedures and relevant statutory requirements.
- Assist in emergency procedures, safety drills, and first-aid arrangements.
- Promote safety awareness and good housekeeping practices among all workers.
- Perform any other safety-related duties assigned by the Project Manager or Site Manager.
