TGS International Group is supporting a leading international technology and infrastructure services organisation in the appointment of an experienced Site Manager – Structured Cabling to oversee the delivery of large-scale hyperscale data centre projects in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

Our client specialises in delivering end-to-end connectivity solutions, structured cabling installations and IT infrastructure services across complex data centre and enterprise environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to take ownership of on-site project delivery, leading engineering teams, coordinating contractors and ensuring all installations are completed safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of structured cabling and connectivity infrastructure installations within hyperscale data centre environments.

Working closely with Project Managers, supervisors, engineers and client representatives, you will coordinate site activities, manage resources and ensure projects are delivered in accordance with technical specifications, programme requirements and quality standards.

This is a fully site-based position requiring hands-on management of engineering teams, contractors and installation activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily site operations and coordinate structured cabling installations across hyperscale data centre projects.

• Lead, manage and motivate site-based supervisors, cabling engineers and installation teams.

• Ensure all fibre-optic and copper cabling installations meet project specifications, manufacturer requirements and quality standards.

• Coordinate site activities, installation schedules, labour resources and project priorities.

• Maintain compliance with Health & Safety requirements, including risk assessments, method statements and safe working procedures.

• Manage stock levels, material procurement and site logistics to ensure efficient project delivery.

• Order materials and ensure sufficient stock is available to maintain installation schedules.

• Monitor installation progress and provide regular updates and reports to Project Managers.

• Conduct quality inspections and ensure completed installations meet required technical standards.

• Read, interpret and update technical drawings, installation documentation and site records.

• Attend client meetings, communicate project progress and ensure agreed actions are completed.

• Prepare and maintain project documentation, installation records and handover information.

• Develop and coordinate patching schedules and ensure installation activities are completed on time.

• Compile Operations and Maintenance (O&M) manuals and supporting project documentation.

• Support urgent installation activities when required to maintain project delivery.

• Monitor resource utilisation, material costs and operational efficiency to maximise project profitability.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience managing structured cabling installations within data centre environments.

• Strong understanding of fibre-optic and copper structured cabling systems, installation practices and quality standards.

• Demonstrated ability to lead, coordinate and motivate site-based engineering teams, supervisors and installation personnel.

• Experience delivering technical installation projects within fast-paced construction or data centre environments.

• Strong knowledge of site health and safety procedures, risk assessments and method statements.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, patching schedules and installation specifications.

• Experience managing materials, resources, project documentation and installation programmes.

• Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple site priorities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint and Outlook.

• A proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving and project delivery.

• Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and productivity.

Desirable Experience

• Previous involvement in hyperscale data centre construction or connectivity infrastructure projects.

• Experience managing multiple structured cabling installation teams.

• Familiarity with project handover documentation, O&M manuals and quality assurance procedures.

• Experience coordinating directly with clients, main contractors and specialist installation teams.

• Strong understanding of structured cabling testing, installation standards and project delivery processes.
