Job Summary
The Test Technician performs setup, execution, and troubleshooting of production tests for PCBAs and finished IoT products. This role operates test equipment and fixtures, logs results in MES/Databases, performs basic failure analysis, and supports engineers during NPI, pilot builds, and mass production to ensure quality, throughput, and compliance with test procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Test Execution & Line Support
- Execute ICT, FCT, RF, burn‑in, boundary scan, end‑of‑line and system tests per SOP/WI
- Perform test setup and changeover (fixtures, programs, golden samples, calibration checks)
- Monitor UPH, cycle time, and FPY; escalate anomalies promptly
- Ensure ESD, safety, and 5S compliance at test stations
Troubleshooting & Failure Handling
- Perform first‑level troubleshooting on failed units (visual inspection, re-test, basic probing)
- Identify common failure modes (e.g., solder bridges, component orientation, loose connectors)
- Properly segregate and tag failures, update defect codes, and route for FA/repair
- Support engineers on root cause validation and corrective action verification
Equipment, Fixtures & Calibration
- Conduct daily start-up checks, verify tooling pins, pogo pins, probes, and cables
- Replace consumables (probes, fuses, relays), and perform basic fixture maintenance
- Coordinate equipment calibration and maintain calibration labels/records
- Report equipment downtime and support preventive maintenance schedules
Documentation & Data Integrity
- Follow SOPs, Work Instructions, test specifications, and revision control
- Accurately log test results in MES/traceability systems and ensure data integrity
- Create/maintain checklists, station logs, downtime reports, and shift handover notes
- Support ECN/ECO implementation at test stations (programs, labels, parameters)
NPI & Continuous Improvement
- Support trial runs, pilot builds, GR&R, gauge study activities under engineer guidance
- Provide feedback on test stability, ergonomics, and false fail/false pass issues
- Participate in kaizen, 5S, Lean initiatives to reduce test time and improve yield
- Assist with program loading, golden unit management, and version verification
