Job Description :Precision Component Design:Develops and conducts test plans and protocols for design verification, process characterization, process validation, finished product and benchmarking study to generate test reports with sound engineering principleDesign, develop, and implement automated and manual test procedures for functional, performance, and regression testingDrives the entire design verification and validation activities to ensure compliance to regulatory requirementsCollaborate with design engineers and product developers to create detailed specifications and drawings for precision components or systems.Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to design intricate geometries, complex surfaces, and fine features with precise dimensions and tolerances.Advanced Machining Techniques: Identifies and consolidates requirement lists from product performance, functional and regulatory aspectsApply expertise in advanced machining processes such as CNC milling, turning, grinding, EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining), and laser machining to manufacture precision components.Develop and optimize machining strategies, toolpaths, and cutting parameters to achieve tight tolerances, surface finish requirements, and dimensional accuracy.Material Selection and Optimization:Evaluate material properties and characteristics to select the most suitable materials for precision machining applications, considering factors such as hardness, strength, thermal stability, and machinability.Optimize machining parameters, tooling selections, and cutting fluids to maximize material removal rates, minimize tool wear, and maintain dimensional stability during machining operationsImplement strategies for minimizing material distortion, warping, or residual stresses during machining, particularly for heat-sensitive or brittle materials.Quality Assurance and Metrology:Develops and executes various benchmark testing to understand product quality compared to existing productsConducts feasibility testing together with product development and quality teamImplement rigorous quality control measures and inspection protocols to ensure that precision components meet exacting specifications and performance requirements.Utilize advanced metrology tools such as CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines), optical comparators, surface profilometers, and vision systems to perform dimensional analysis, geometric verification, and surface roughness measurements.Follow up FA inspection, review ECN & approve inspections reportsHandle relevant quality issues with suppliers and sub-conProcess Optimization and Continuous Improvement:Troubleshoot Daily process quality issues and improvement actionsConduct process optimization studies, DOE (Design of Experiments), and root cause analyses to identify opportunities for improving machining efficiency, reducing cycle times, and enhancing product quality.Implement Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and Kaizen initiatives to streamline workflows, eliminate waste, and drive continuous improvement in precision machining processes.Leverage data analytics and machine learning techniques to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for optimization in machining operations.Tooling and Fixture Design:Design and develop custom tooling, fixtures, and workholding solutions to support precision machining operations, ensuring secure clamping, accurate positioning, and efficient chip evacuation.Incorporate advanced features such as hydraulic clamping, pneumatic actuation, and modular setups to enhance flexibility, repeatability, and productivity in machining setups.Utilize simulation tools and finite element analysis (FEA) to validate tooling designs and predict performance under various loading conditions.Collaboration and Communication:Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including design engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality assurance, and production management to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.Communicate effectively with suppliers, vendors, and external partners to source materials, tooling, and equipment, negotiate contracts, and coordinate project activities as needed.Provide technical expertise and guidance to stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle, from initial design concept to final production and assembly.Training and Development:Provide training, mentoring, and technical support to machinists, operators, and apprentices to develop their skills and expertise in precision machining techniques, tooling usage, and quality assurance practices.Stay updated on advancements in precision machining technologies, materials, and methodologies through continuous learning, professional development activities, and industry networking.Organize workshops, seminars, and hands-on training sessions to disseminate best practices, new technologies, and emerging trends in precision engineering and manufacturing.Regulatory Compliance and Documentation:Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and quality management systems (such as ISO 9001) governing precision machining processes and product certifications.Maintain comprehensive documentation including process specifications, work instructions, inspection records, and certification documentation to support traceability, regulatory compliance, and customer requirements.Conduct internal audits, supplier evaluations, and certification assessments to verify compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM7,800.00 per month
