Requirements
Possess a valid Safety & Health Officer (SHO) competency certificate/registration recognised by DOSH/JKKP.
Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health or related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in construction, industrial or oil & gas projects.
Strong knowledge of Malaysian occupational safety and health requirements.
Valid CIDB Green Card and relevant safety certifications.
OGSP certification is an advantage.
Good communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
Able to work independently and manage site safety activities effectively.
Willing to work at project/site locations.
Responsibilities
Job Summary
Responsible for managing and monitoring occupational safety and health activities at the project site to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, client requirements and company safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Health Management
Implement and monitor the company's safety and health programmes at the project site.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOSH/JKKP requirements, client standards and company procedures.
Monitor site activities and promote a safe working environment.
Site Inspection & Risk Control
Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify hazards and unsafe practices.
Recommend and monitor appropriate control measures and corrective actions.
Monitor high-risk activities and ensure approved risk assessments, method statements and permit-to-work requirements are followed.
Safety Training & Awareness
Conduct safety inductions, toolbox meetings, safety briefings and awareness programmes.
Promote safety awareness among employees, subcontractors and workers.
Organise and participate in emergency drills and safety campaigns.
Incident Investigation & Reporting
Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences.
Prepare safety reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Monitor the implementation and closure of corrective actions.
Safety Documentation & Compliance
Maintain safety records, inspection reports, risk assessments, training records and relevant documentation.
Prepare and submit statutory and client safety reports when required.
Assist during DOSH/JKKP, client and internal safety audits or inspections.
Coordination & Site Support
Coordinate with Project Manager, Construction Manager, SSS, engineers, supervisors and subcontractors on safety matters.
Provide safety advice and guidance to the project team.
Ensure appropriate PPE, safety equipment, signage and emergency facilities are available and properly maintained.
