E-commerce Product Designer Intern (Marketplace Visuals)

Job Summary

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented E-commerce Product Designer Intern to support the development of attractive and professional product visuals for our online marketplaces and ecommerce platforms.

You will gain hands-on experience in product listing design, image editing, product photography, promotional graphics and digital content creation while working closely with our Graphic Design and Ecommerce teams.

This internship provides opportunities to contribute to real commercial design projects, develop practical skills and build a professional design portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

1. Marketplace Product Visual Design

• Assist in designing product listing images for Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop, company websites and other ecommerce platforms.
• Create product thumbnails, feature highlights, size guides, product comparisons and promotional images.
• Support improvements to existing product visuals and listing presentations.
• Follow company branding guidelines and marketplace image requirements.

2. Product Photography & Image Editing

• Assist with product photography and preparation of product images.
• Perform background removal, cropping, colour correction, resizing and basic photo retouching.
• Create simple product mock-ups and lifestyle compositions.
• Ensure product images accurately represent actual products.

3. Marketing & Promotional Design

• Assist in designing promotional banners, campaign graphics and marketing materials.
• Prepare creative assets for seasonal promotions and marketplace campaigns.
• Adapt artwork for different digital platforms and image formats.

4. Product Research & Creative Improvement

• Research competitor product listings and ecommerce visual trends.
• Contribute creative ideas to improve product presentation.
• Assist in developing reusable product design templates.
• Support approved design improvements based on team feedback.

5. Team Collaboration & Design Quality

• Work with Graphic Design, Ecommerce and relevant product teams.
• Revise artwork based on feedback and instructions.
• Check spelling, dimensions, specifications and image accuracy before submission.
• Maintain organized design files and follow assigned deadlines.
• Use approved AI-assisted creative tools responsibly and protect company information.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, Visual Communication, Digital Media, Advertising Design, Creative Multimedia or a related field.
• Basic understanding of graphic design principles, typography, composition and colour.
• Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva or similar design software.
• Interest in ecommerce, product presentation and digital marketing.
• Creative, detail-oriented and willing to learn.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to organize assignments and meet agreed deadlines.
• No previous professional working experience required.

Added Advantages

• Product photography or image-editing experience.
• Experience designing ecommerce product listings.
• Basic video editing or digital content creation.
• Familiarity with Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop or similar platforms.
• Basic 3D product mock-up or visualization skills.
• Experience using AI-assisted design tools.

Portfolio Requirement

Applicants are encouraged to provide relevant design samples, including university assignments, product images, posters, promotional graphics, photography, image-editing projects or personal creative work.

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to complete a short practical design assessment.
