Job Responsibilities
- Manage procurement activities for engineering materials, equipment, spare parts, and project-related requirements.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to obtain competitive pricing, quality products, and timely delivery.
- Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs), purchase orders (POs), and other procurement-related documents.
- Review technical specifications, drawings, and material requisitions to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering, project, warehouse, and site teams to ensure materials are procured and delivered according to project schedules.
- Evaluate supplier quotations based on price, quality, delivery lead time, and technical compliance.
- Monitor purchase orders, delivery schedules, and outstanding materials, and follow up with suppliers to prevent delays.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and purchasing documentation.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, project specifications, and applicable quality and safety requirements.
- Identify potential suppliers, monitor supplier performance, and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in engineering, construction, manufacturing, or oil and gas projects.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, supplier evaluation, quotation analysis, and purchase order management.
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications, technical documents, and material requisitions.
- Strong negotiation, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Experience with SAP or other ERP procurement systems is an advantage.
- Able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented, organised, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Willing to be based in Johor Bahru, Johor, and travel to project sites when required.
Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
