SOURCING SPECIALIST

Department: Purchasing / Procurement
Location: Penang, Malaysia
Salary Range: RM2,500 – RM3,500 per month

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Sourcing Specialist to support sourcing and procurement activities covering metal components, raw materials, subcontracting, capital expenditure (CAPEX) and services. The successful candidate will assist in supplier sourcing, quotation evaluation, cost negotiation and supplier performance monitoring to support the Company's manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Source suppliers for metal components, raw materials, subcontracting, CAPEX and services.
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on pricing, quality, delivery and service capabilities.
• Obtain quotations, conduct price comparisons and support commercial negotiations.
• Coordinate with internal departments to understand purchasing requirements and technical specifications.
• Monitor supplier performance and follow up on delivery schedules and outstanding issues.
• Support cost-saving initiatives and identify alternative suppliers.
• Assist with CAPEX procurement for machinery, equipment, tooling and related services.
• Maintain accurate sourcing records, supplier information and procurement documentation.
• Ensure sourcing activities comply with company procurement policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Procurement, Business Administration or a related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in sourcing or purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of metal components, raw materials, subcontracting or CAPEX sourcing is an advantage.
• Good negotiation, communication and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with ERP systems.
• Self-motivated, organised and able to work independently as well as in a team.
