Job Description

Requirements

  • Operate and maintain various woodworking machinery such as saws, planers, routers, and sanders to produce components according to specifications.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to understand project requirements and material dimensions.

  • Perform material handling tasks, including loading, unloading, and transporting wood materials safely and efficiently.

  • Conduct quality control checks on finished products to ensure they meet established standards for dimensions, finish, and structural integrity.

  • Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and protocols in the workshop environment, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Assemble wooden components and structures using appropriate tools and techniques, ensuring precision and durability.

  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of production targets.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.

  • Identify and report any machinery malfunctions or material defects to the supervisor promptly.

  • Basic understanding of different wood types and their properties for optimal processing.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain a variety of woodworking machinery, including saws, planers, jointers, routers, and sanders, to produce high-quality wood components according to specifications.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to accurately cut, shape, and assemble wood pieces for various projects.

  • Perform material handling tasks, including receiving, inspecting, storing, and distributing raw lumber and finished wood products, ensuring proper inventory management.

  • Conduct quality control checks throughout the production process, identifying and rectifying any defects or deviations from quality standards to ensure product excellence.

  • Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe operation of machinery, to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Assemble wood components into finished products, utilizing various joining techniques and fasteners, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic appeal.

  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of woodworking machinery and the work area to ensure optimal performance and a tidy workspace.
