Computer Science / IT Intern – Web and App Development

We are looking for a Computer Science / IT Intern to support the development, maintenance, and improvement of our web and app platform. This is a hands-on role suitable for a student who wants practical experience working on a live web and mobile application and solving real-world technical problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the development and maintenance of web applications and website features.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and fix bugs and technical issues.
• Develop and improve front-end and back-end functionality.
• Test new features and bug fixes before deployment.
• Investigate reported issues and determine their root causes.
• Improve website performance, reliability, usability, and responsiveness.
• Work with databases, APIs, authentication systems, and other web technologies where required.
• Assist with integrations with third-party services and APIs.
• Review existing code and make improvements where necessary.
• Perform testing across desktop and mobile devices and different browsers.
• Document technical changes, fixes, and development work.
• Support deployment, maintenance, and other programming-related tasks.
• Work independently on assigned development tasks and provide regular progress updates.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of web development and programming.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript and modern web development concepts.
• Experience with at least one modern web framework or library such as React, Next.js, Node.js, or similar is preferred.
• Basic understanding of databases, APIs, Git/version control, and debugging.
• Able to read existing code, identify problems, and implement fixes.
• Strong problem-solving and logical-thinking skills.
• Willingness to learn unfamiliar technologies when required.
• Able to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.
• Good communication skills and able to explain technical issues clearly.

Preferred Skills

Candidates with any of the following will have an advantage:

• Experience building or maintaining a full-stack web application.
• React / Next.js / Node.js experience.
• SQL or relational database experience.
• REST API or third-party API integration experience.
• Git and GitHub experience.
• Cloud deployment or hosting experience.
• Experience with payment gateway integrations such as Stripe.
• Familiarity with automated testing, debugging tools, or software QA.
• Experience working on a real website, personal project, school project, or GitHub project.
