Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical / Maintenance Technician to oversee the operation, maintenance, repair, and ongoing reliability of our electroplating line and automated plating machinery. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience troubleshooting industrial chemical plating tanks, pump filtration systems, exhaust ventilation, and mechanical transfer mechanisms to ensure smooth and uninterrupted production.
Key Responsibilities
- Routine Maintenance & Repairs: Perform regular preventative and corrective mechanical maintenance on plating tanks, filtration units, pumps, chemical feed systems, heat exchangers, and associated piping.
- Troubleshooting: Rapidly diagnose and repair mechanical failures, piping leaks, motor issues, hoist/gantry transfer systems, and pneumatic/hydraulic components across the plating line.
- System Inspections: Inspect exhaust ventilation systems, scrubbers, Industrial Effluent Treatment System (IETS) pumps, and air compressors to maintain safe operating conditions and regulatory standards.
- Process Optimization: Assist in equipment installations, line modifications, and mechanical upgrades to optimize production efficiency and reduce equipment downtime.
- Compliance & Safety: Comply strictly with chemical safety protocols, ISO standards (ISO 9001 / ISO 14001), and internal safety guidelines when working around plating chemicals and machinery.
- Documentation & Spare Parts: Keep accurate logs of maintenance activities and assist in tracking and managing spare parts inventory for mechanical components.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance, specifically within an electroplating, chemical manufacturing, or metal finishing environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Solid knowledge of industrial pumps (magnetic drive, diaphragm, submersible), fluid piping (PVC, CPVC, PVDF), valves, and filtration systems.
- Familiarity with plating line hoists, overhead conveyors, pneumatics, and chemical-resistant materials.
- Problem-Solving: Strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities and willingness to handle urgent breakdown repairs.
- Working Conditions: Ability to work safely in a chemical/plating environment and perform physical maintenance tasks when required.
