Business & Operations Director – Semiconductor Manufacturing

Location: Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business & Operations Director to lead and drive business growth, operational excellence, and overall performance within the semiconductor manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership across business operations, manufacturing, customer management, financial performance, capacity planning, and continuous improvement while ensuring the organization meets its business, quality, delivery, and profitability objectives.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide strategic leadership and direction for overall business and manufacturing operations.

· Develop and execute business strategies to achieve revenue, profitability, productivity, and growth objectives.

· Lead overall operational performance covering production, quality, engineering and customer requirements.

· Establish and monitor business and operational KPIs, including revenue, yield, OEE, productivity, cost, quality, delivery, and customer satisfaction.

· Drive operational excellence, cost optimization, capacity utilization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

· Develop annual operating plans, budgets, manpower plans, capacity strategies, and business forecasts.

· Lead P&L management, cost control, and financial performance improvement.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, business partners, suppliers, and stakeholders.

· Identify new business opportunities, customer requirements and potential growth areas.

· Lead customer engagement, business reviews, negotiations, and escalation management.

· Ensure manufacturing operations meet customer requirements, quality standards, delivery commitments, and regulatory requirements.

· Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, and other functions to achieve business objectives.

· Develop and mentor senior management teams and build a high-performance organizational culture.

· Lead risk management, business continuity, and operational improvement programs.

· Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO, ESD, safety, quality, and semiconductor industry requirements.

· Report business and operational performance, risks, and strategic initiatives to senior management.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, or a related field.

· Minimum 8 – 10 years of relevant experience, with significant management experience in the semiconductor, OSAT or manufacturing industry.

· Proven experience in business management and manufacturing operations leadership.

· Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, operations, and supply chain.

· Demonstrated experience in P&L management, budgeting, cost control, and business planning.

· Strong track record in driving revenue growth, profitability, productivity, yield, quality, and operational excellence.

· Experience managing cross-functional teams and senior-level stakeholders.

· Strong customer relationship, negotiation, and business development skills.

· Excellent strategic thinking, leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.

· Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage senior management and customers.

· Willing to travel locally and internationally when required.
