Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and hands-on Debug Technician to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) functional failures in an electronics manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of electronic circuits, practical experience with debugging tools, and the ability to perform component-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

This role will support New Product Introduction (NPI), pilot production, and mass production activities to ensure product functionality, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform functional debugging and troubleshooting of PCBA at component and circuit level.
  • Diagnose and resolve electronic failures related to:
  • Power-up issues, power sequencing, and power supply circuits.
  • Auto-reboot, system hang, and boot failure issues.
  • Ethernet/LAN connectivity, Wi-Fi, RF performance, and throughput failures.
  • MCU boot issues and communication interfaces, including UART, SPI, and I2C.
  • Analyze UART boot logs, Linux system logs, and AT command outputs to identify hardware and system-related issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) using schematic diagrams, block diagrams, datasheets, and circuit measurements.
  • Perform component-level rework and replacement of faulty electronic components, including ICs, LDOs, MOSFETs, crystals, resistors, and capacitors.
  • Support NPI, pilot runs, and mass production by investigating and resolving PCBA failures.
  • Work closely with Test, Process, Quality, and Engineering teams to identify issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare debugging reports, document findings, and provide feedback on corrective and preventive actions.
  • Assist in improving test coverage, troubleshooting procedures, and debugging workflows to enhance product quality and production efficiency.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Electronics Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in PCBA debugging, preferably in an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic schematic diagrams, PCB layouts, and circuit block diagrams.
  • Good understanding of digital circuits, analog circuits, and power electronics.
  • Hands-on experience using electronic troubleshooting equipment, including:
  • Digital multimeter
  • Oscilloscope
  • Bench power supply
  • Hot air rework station and soldering tools
  • Practical experience troubleshooting power-related issues, Ethernet/Wi-Fi/RF failures, MCU boot problems, and communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, and I2C.
  • Familiarity with reading UART boot logs, Linux logs, and AT command outputs for debugging purposes.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting NPI, pilot production, and mass production troubleshooting.
  • Experience with component-level PCBA repair and rework.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems and wireless or networking products.
  • Experience documenting technical findings and implementing corrective actions.

Pay: RM2,400.00 - RM3,200.00 per month

Education:

  • Diploma/Advanced Diploma (Preferred)

Experience:

  • PCBA debugging: 2 years (Preferred)
