Job Overview

We are looking for a motivated and results-driven Logistics Sales Executive to develop new business opportunities and manage customer accounts across air freight, sea freight, road transportation and customs brokerage services.

The successful candidate will identify potential customers, understand their logistics requirements, prepare competitive solutions and build long-term business relationships to drive sales growth and profitability.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in B2B sales or business development, preferably in freight forwarding, logistics, shipping or related industries.

• Proven ability to acquire new customers, manage sales opportunities and achieve sales targets.

• Basic knowledge of air freight, sea freight and import/export procedures.

• Able to communicate effectively in English, Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia.

• Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving and customer relationship management skills.

• Possess a valid driving licence and own transport for customer visits.

• Willing to travel within the assigned sales territory.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, email and CRM or sales tracking systems.

• Self-motivated, organised and able to work independently or collaboratively with internal teams.

• Knowledge of Incoterms, FCL/LCL shipments, customs clearance or project cargo is an added advantage.

Job Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, referrals, emails and customer visits.

• Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline targeting importers, exporters, manufacturers, distributors and other businesses requiring logistics services.

• Promote the company's air freight, sea freight, road transportation and customs brokerage solutions.

• Understand customers' shipping requirements, including cargo details, shipment frequency, destinations and delivery timelines.

• Collaborate with pricing, operations and customs teams to prepare accurate quotations and competitive logistics proposals.

• Follow up on quotations, negotiate pricing within approved limits and secure profitable business opportunities.

• Manage customer onboarding and coordinate shipment requirements with the operations team.

• Build and maintain long-term customer relationships to encourage repeat business and account growth.

• Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional logistics services, including project cargo, machinery relocation, specialist handling and cargo insurance arrangements.

• Work closely with customer service and operations teams to resolve customer enquiries and shipment-related issues.

• Maintain accurate sales records, customer information, quotations and pipeline updates in the CRM system.

• Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts and market or competitor updates for management.

• Coordinate with the finance team on customer credit applications, billing enquiries and outstanding payment follow-ups.

• Achieve agreed sales targets, including new customer acquisition, gross profit, quotation conversion and customer retention.

Performance Expectations

Performance will be evaluated based on new customer acquisition, sales pipeline development, gross profit, quotation conversion, customer retention and account growth. Sales targets and the initial performance period will be agreed upon with management.
