Role Description The Sonographer is a full-time, on-site role based at KPJ Pasir Gudang Specialist Hospital in Pasir Gudang, Johor. The role involves performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including general, obstetric, gynecologic, and vascular studies, in accordance with established protocols and safety standards. The Sonographer will work closely with radiologists and other medical consultants to acquire high-quality images, assist in interpreting findings, and document results accurately in patient records. Daily responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, operating and maintaining ultrasound equipment, ensuring infection control practices, and providing clear, compassionate explanations of procedures to patients. The role also includes collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, supporting continuous quality improvement initiatives, and participating in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Diagnostic imaging and clinical knowledge skills: Medicine, Radiology, Vascular ultrasound.
• Formal education and licensing: Diploma or degree in Medical Imaging, Sonography, Radiography, or related field; valid registration and license with relevant professional bodies as required by Malaysian regulations.
• Technical and safety skills: Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment, adherence to radiation and ultrasound safety standards, strong attention to detail in image acquisition and documentation.
• Patient care and communication: Ability to interact respectfully with patients of diverse backgrounds, provide clear explanations, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate empathy and professionalism.
• Teamwork and adaptability: Capability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, manage workload in a busy hospital environment, and adapt to changing clinical priorities and schedules.
• Experience: Previous experience as a Sonographer or in a similar diagnostic imaging role in a hospital or clinical setting is an advantage.
