About the role

TDK-Lambda Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., a leading manufacturer of power supplies, is seeking an Automation Engineer to join our team in Senai, Johor. As a Test Engineer at TDK-Lambda Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our high-performance power supply products.

What you'll be doing

• Electromechanical Design: Design and draft custom test fixtures using SolidWorks (3D) and AutoCAD (2D).
• Circuit Development: Create electrical schematics and circuit designs for test interfaces.
• Hands-on Skills: Possess hands-on experience including soldering, wiring and mechanical assemblies.
• Troubleshooting & Repair: Support for fixture issues on the production line, performing root-cause analysis and hardware repairs to minimize downtime.
• Asset Management: Oversee the fixture inventory system, managing spare parts and technical documentation.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Test Engineer or in a similar role within the power electronics or electronics industry.
• Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot PCB-level issues.
• Proficient in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, electronic loads, power analyzers, etc.
• Proficiency in Excel, or statistical tools for analyzing test results.
• Good communication and written in English and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Possess strong critical thinking skills and resilience in the face of challenges.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD is required.
• Practical Skills: Strong hands-on background in mechanical assembly and electrical soldering (PCBA/Wiring).
• Design Knowledge: Experience in circuit drafting and interpreting complex electrical schematics.
• Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and repair electromechanical systems.
• Organizational Skills: Experience managing technical inventories or BOMs.
