Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and monitor the company’s Occupational Safety and Health policies, procedures and programmes.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysia’s Occupational Safety and Health laws, DOSH/JKKP requirements and other applicable regulations.
  • Conduct daily workplace inspections to identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and potential hazards.
  • Carry out Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC) for plant activities, machinery and work processes.
  • Monitor high-risk activities, including lifting operations, crane operations, working at height, confined-space work, welding, machinery operation and vehicle movement.
  • Investigate workplace accidents, near misses, dangerous occurrences and occupational illnesses, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare and submit accident reports and other required documentation to management and the relevant authorities.
  • Organize safety inductions, toolbox meetings, safety briefings, training and awareness programmes for employees and contractors.
  • Manage PPE requirements and ensure employees correctly use the required safety equipment.
  • Coordinate Safety and Health Committee meetings, workplace inspections and follow-up actions.
  • Maintain all safety records, including inspection reports, training records, machinery certificates, incident reports and legal registers.
  • Develop and monitor emergency-response procedures, evacuation drills, fire-safety arrangements and first-aid readiness.
  • Liaise with DOSH/JKKP, BOMBA, DOE/JAS, external consultants and other relevant authorities during inspections or audits.
  • Monitor contractor and visitor compliance with the company’s safety requirements.
  • Advise management on safety risks, legal requirements and necessary improvement measures.
  • Issue safety warnings or stop-work instructions where there is an immediate danger to employees.
  • Prepare monthly safety reports, statistics and improvement plans for management review.
  • Perform any other safety and health duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering or a related field.
  • Registered Safety and Health Officer with DOSH/JKKP, where the position is required to serve as the company’s statutory SHO.
  • Valid SHO registration and competency status.
  • Knowledge of HIRARC, incident investigation, emergency response and Malaysian OSH requirements.
  • Experience in precast concrete, construction, manufacturing or batching-plant operations is preferred.
  • Able to communicate effectively in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
  • Firm, observant and capable of working closely with employees, contractors and government authorities.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
