Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Tool Design Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Tool Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing efficient tools, fixtures, and equipment for our manufacturing processes. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions that enhance productivity and product quality. Your expertise in engineering principles, CAD software, and manufacturing techniques will be essential in designing and validating tooling solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Review new stamping part requests and customer requirements, providing material information and stamping rates.
Develop comprehensive manufacturing process plans, from raw material to finished goods, and ensure they meet our standards.
Collaborate with in-house teams and customers to review and refine the manufacturing process plans.
Design stamping process layouts and strip layouts, and conduct thorough reviews with internal teams and tooling vendors.
Review tool structure designs prior to detailed work.
Take full responsibility for completing tool designs.
Manage and track the tooling schedule, including design, fabrication, testing, and mass production tooling approval.
Review and approve in-house or outsourced tool designs before fabrication.
Maintain up-to-date tool designs and customer part drawing revisions.
Organize and control tooling drawings, documents, and engineering change notices (ECN).
Manage and update the tooling master-list, including stamping materials and customer part revisions.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Certificate in Tool & Die Making or Professional certificate in Tool & Die Design.
Strong knowledge in Press Tools Design, AutoCAD & 3D software, and Microsoft Office.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in press tool making.
7 to 10 years of experience as a Tool Designer in metal stamping or press tool in progressive, compound & stage tooling.
Good understanding of GD&T (Geometric, Dimensioning & Tolerancing), mechanical assembly processes, and quality inspection methods.
Develop, prepare and/or review engineering plans and designs for civil & structural works, related certificate & documentation and working drawings complying to client’s requirement and standard design code
Pre-consultation with Authorities to ensure civil & structural works are designed according to specifications/requirement
Prepare design calculation reports and drawings for authorities’ submissions
