- ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT1. Adherence to nursing care vision, mission, goals and objectives, aligns with the scope of nursing services, and performs shift duties as assigned by the Unit Manager to ensure high quality care rendered.2. Notifies the unit manager of any changes in the situation that could impact the standards of care.3. Obtains and handovers a report of patient progress, ensuring all doctor's orders are followed before changing or over taking shifts and notifying any incidents or problems encountered.4. Provide personalized, holistic patient care, with accurate documentation and timely reporting of abnormal findings. High-quality maternity care is provided, including emergency procedures, a national registry for child births and deaths, and safe maternal and child healthcare.6. Conducts nursing rounds on patients, providing emotional support and accompanying doctors while doing rounds, as well as assisting in procedures as needed.7. Executing the doctor's orders, coordinating with team members related to patients’ treatment, and fostering effective communication with all disciplines, patients, and relatives to ensure patient satisfaction.8. Assisting state-registered midwives with monitoring for CTG and complications like preterm labor and hemorrhage.9. Guiding and supervising new mothers on self-care, newborn care, breastfeeding, and family planning and preparing to provide postnatal home care education and support.10. Actively participates in the health education of patients and their families in the ward as well as unit meetings, dialogue sessions, and hospital activities.11. Provide clear, compassionate, and culturally sensitive communication with patients, ensuring their understanding of their condition, treatment options, and care plan comprehensively.12. Collaborate with the unit manager in administration, setting care standards, and fulfilling duties in the absence of the unit manager, while also carrying out assigned tasks and providing feedback.13. Assist with patient transfer inter-services and discharge procedures, scheduling specialist clinic appointments (if needed), handling death cases with respect, and ensuring safe transfer to the mortuary. ...

They are trained to prescribe corrective lenses (glasses or contact lenses) and manage various eye health issues, such as refractive errors (nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism), as well as detecting signs of eye diseases like glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESA. ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT1. Perform Optometrist assessments and therapy. 2. Perform diagnostic procedure such as Optical Coherence Tomography Scan, Biometry, Lasik eye examination 3. Perform miscellaneous assessment and diagnostic procedure as per required of the Consultant Ophthalmologist 4. To assist the Ophthalmologist in Lasik Eye Surgery 5. Ensure services are provided promptly to patients in an efficient, ethical and professional manner 6. To perform any other duties as and when required by the management. B.HUMAN RESOURCE AND MANAGEMENT1. To take personal responsibility for own professional development and keep up to date with professional change and growth by maintaining mandatory learning hours. 2. Supervise all subordinates and coordinate their activities 3. As a planner, organizer and supervisor of the Services 4. To conduct and evaluate staff, in-service training and educational programmes to ensure that professional work practice is carried out at all times. 5. Prepare services reports and /or budgets in a timely manner. C. POLICIES AND PROCEDURES1. Contributes to the periodic revision and upgrading of the Eye Centre Services Policies and Procedures and relevant work instructions 2. To adhere to the hospital policies, procedure, guidelines and work instructions. 3. To adhere to all Acts, Laws, Rules and Regulation governing the Optical Services at all times. Maintain the confidentiality of patients’ personal and medical history.
- FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT1. Operates/maintains specialized equipment assigned to the unit and provides assistance / guidance to new staff on their use. 2. Checks that all equipment in the department is functioning well and serviced according to the PPM schedule. 3. Report to the Biomedical personnel in the event of any faulty equipment and taken the necessary action accordingly. 4. Maintains adequate supply of medical supplies and other necessary items for the department.
- ENVIRONMENTAL, SAFETY AND QUALITY IMPROVEMENT ACTIVTIES1. To participate actively and encourages compliance to all policies and Procedures of ISO9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007, HACCP Netherlands, Malaysian Hospital Accreditation Standards, Joint Commission International Accreditation Standards (JCI) and NPSG.
