KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and manage merchandising budget and cost control.
- Create store strategies and sales plan for the department.
- Quarterly plan at category/season level that reflects the best possible of product to deliver the KPI’s
- Plan and discuss the pre-scheduling to meet the range plan with Merchandiser & Brand Manager.
- Work up the forecast from category/Season level to sign off with Brand manager: Incorporating: Forecasting any sales variance to plan, creation of OTB’s, Management of commitments – One time delivery, rebuys, cancellations, markdown proposals.
- Review and analyse sales performance which covering data review as well as customer and sales team feedback.
- Overview the ratio for all buys in conjunction with Assistant merchandiser / Merchandiser.
- Planning, coordinating and executing brand related tradeshows.
- Prepare and analyse profit planning report.
- Attend selection meetings with principle.
- Weekly branch visits to report back findings on merchandise.
- Perform any ad-hoc tasks as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Degree in business/ marketing or equivalent.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
- At least 1 – 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
- Excellent in MS Excel Knowledge (Pivot table & V-lookup).
- Able to work in a fast pace working environment.
- Able to work independently and with minimum supervision.
- Sound decision-making skills and the ability to plan and prioritise.
- Capable to work well as part of a team and to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To establish a continuous supply of stocks in order to maximize sales and profitability at store level
• To achieve the seasonal estimate for the category both in pairs and turnover.
• To achieve assigned stock rotation according to yearly budget.
• To carry out any other jobs/assignments that may be assigned to you by the Company from time to time.
DISTRIBUTION PROCEDURE:
• To execute distribution procedure which will allow the right shoes in the right sizes to the right units at the right time.
• To ensure proper setting of standards to achieve maximum sale with a minimum of stock.
• To ensure that the back-up stock in the warehouse for standard articles are adequate to allow for continuous supply.
• To maintain a continuous flow of merchandising information to and from the stores.
• To review merchandising reports and sales statistics (S.I.R Store Report etc) and take merchandising action such as:
1. Ship additional supply to stores
2. Revise assortment goods on order according to requirement
3. Transfer goods from stores
4. Recall goods from stores
5. Reduce selling prices to ensure liquidation in good time
6. Institute sales promotion actions or introduce sales incentives such as premiums
• To work together with merchandising manager for regrouping activities, to ensure that stocks are consolidated for maximum sales activity. To follow up on the regrouping activities and to work with Operations Teams to ensure maximum efficiency in movement of stores.
• To review at least 5 store comparative store report per district together with District Manager during monthly DM meeting.
GENERAL:
• To ensure that no merchandise which is older than 1 year is kept in stock.
• To ensure that there should not be any stocks more than 2 months in DC and those stocks must be sent out to stores.
• To carry out the spot quality checks and monitor distribution activities while visiting the warehouse.
• To develop and train subordinates in order to provide a back-up of promotable personnel and thus build an effective merchandising organization.
• To attend meetings, conferences and courses organized by the Company locally and overseas.
AUTHORITY
• To approve initial stock standards and modify standards.
• To arrange merchandise transfers as per requirements.
• To make changes or additions to delivery schedules according to special requirements.
• To initiate and pursue action on slow moving items.
• To initiate repeat orders together with merchandising manager.
STANDARD OF PERFORMANCE
• To ensure stock levels are in accordance with sales volume.
• To ensure that end of lines of seasonal items at central warehouse are distributed to the store during peaks periods.
• To ensure that broken lines are regrouped to performing stores.
