JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
A paediatric occupational therapist is an occupational therapist who focuses on helping children develop the skills they need to grow into functional, independent adults. Your duties and responsibilities but not limited to:
• Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating treatment plans in school and community settings.
• To provide clinically effective, person centred, and evidence based occupational therapy assessment and intervention to students.
• To liaise with all team members and family/ guardians in order to provide a coordinated approach and ensure occupational therapy treatment is integrated into student’s targets that support learning and skills for daily living. This could include home visits and monitoring phone calls.
• To provide support and training to all education staff with regard to occupational therapy interventions.
• Establishing realistic goals for students to meet in order to improve their physical, mental and social health.
• To work closely with the class team, including the speech therapists, to ensure provision is student centred and the environment enables them to realise their potential and maximise their academic, social, physical and emotional development.
• Keeping students’ records written and up to date.
• Writing reports and care plans and attend multidisciplinary case meetings to plan and review ongoing plans.
• Organise support and rehabilitation groups for parents and students.
• Supervising the work of occupational therapy assistants.
• Completing administrative tasks such as student and budgetary records.
• Standard administrative works related to students and classroom.

SPECIFICATIONS:
• Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
• Proven experience as a Occupational Therapist or relevant role
• Good knowledge of current special education topics and methodologies
• Experience working with children with learning disabilities
• Experience working with children with a wide range of disabilities
• Ability to create IEPs
• A patient, resourceful, and resilient personality
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• A deep and thorough understanding of the business or organisation.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to understand problems, convey ideas, and conduct training, and all of these are carried out through words.
• Creative and innovative thinking, which enables the employee trainer to keep
things fresh to hold trainees’ attention and improvise on their teaching style.
• Excellent presentation skills to present and handle training programs effectively
• Well-developed administrative skills, as an employee trainer is required to manage training programs efficiently, including sessions and budgets.
