Role and Responsibilities
Warehouse Design and Development
Act as a key stakeholder in the design and development of a GDP-MDS certified warehouse.
Work with other Work Stream Leaders/Business Stakeholders to develop operation SOPs that meets the customer's KPI
Partnering the Project Team to develop the fit-out plan to meet the customer's storage requirements and regulatory compliance
Design and develop implementation plan to fit-out the warehouse with MHE, VNA Racking, Cold Room etc
To plan and develop an operational team within the project budget that meets the customer's KPI
Adoption of technology and automation to reduce reliance on manpower
Warehouse Operations
To ensure delivery of key SLA's with customer in a fast growing sector, including managing/implementing operations for existing and new customers in accordance with the company's demands
Reviews monthly operational performance with customers and provide solutions to drive operational excellence
Daily management of the operations (hands on approach)
Data driven approach to operational planning and resource deployment, conducting labour planning and productivity monitoring to ensure maximized use of workforce
Build a strong win-win relationship with customers, so as to ensure customer retention and development of solutions to grow existing businesses
Frequently review, align and keep immediate Superior updated with information on operational issues and performance indices, such as customer profile, Space Management, Resources management, Operating procedures, and P&L status
Manage the planning process to ensure all daily operation activities are executed and met according to the customer's SLA
Productivity management and tracking
Drive to improve operational performance (service and cost) and audit new processes to ensure robustness
Conduct analysis of errors made in warehouse operations and identify root causes
Review safe work environment aspects in the warehouse
Ongoing analysis of the asset usage (MHE and Warehouse Space) to identify ways to improve efficiency
Continually review and improve business processes, to improve productivity and add value to company's services
Manage the effective implementation and use of the appropriate technology in all sections of the service chain, to enhance service and improve productivity
Develop a high performance service culture within the functional team. Plan, organize, and direct in an efficient and effective manner
Documentation & Control
Support the preparation of resource requisitions, CAPEX submissions and all required documentation throughout project phase.
Support the preparation of procurement documents such as tender/bids, requests for quotes, requests for proposals etc.
Support development of Operational Manuals and SOP for new project implementations together with Product owners.
Ensure compliance with Company's project, operational, quality, regulatory and HS&E (health, safety, environment) standards, including ISO 9001, OSHAS 14000 requirements.
Identify and mitigate risks and issues arising in projects ensure proper and timely escalations throughout project life.
Submit regular project status reports on a timely basis for Management review.
Requirements
Diploma or Degree holder, preferably in Logistics or Supply Chain discipline.
At least 5 years' working experience in a 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) or supply chain industry, preferably in logistics project implementation, operations or related role.
Good understanding of logistics and supply chain operating processes & warehousing solutions
Good problem solving and time management skills with ability to work under pressure, multitask, prioritize and adhere to strict timelines.
Ability to prepare and document procedure manuals.
Ability to work and interact effectively with stakeholders from multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
Strong communicator with effective written and oral communication skills to persuade, influence, negotiate and present business case.
Strong team player with 'can-do' attitude, initiative and demonstrated ability to lead on a project basis
Excellent interpersonal skills including diplomacy and patience.
Other skills, experience considered advantageous
Professional Project Management certification.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and specific job-related software such as MS Project, MS Visio.
Well exposed to logistics related software and system, e.g. WMS, CRM, TMS, AutoCAD, Visio, etc
Meticulous and organized with strong analytical skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Proactive and effective problem solving skills
Able to work autonomously and comfortable dealing with ambiguity and change
