The Site Engineer is responsible for managing and supervising all on-site construction activities to ensure the project is completed according to specifications, drawings, and within the approved timeline. This includes monitoring daily work progress, coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel, and resolving any technical or operational issues that arise on site. The Site Engineer shall interpret construction drawings, conduct site surveys, set out and level the site, and ensure all work complies with project specifications and engineering standards. Quality control is a key responsibility, requiring the Site Engineer to inspect materials and workmanship, conduct routine tests, and maintain accurate site records including daily reports, site diaries, and progress. The Site Engineer also assists the Project Manager in preparing method statements, work procedures, and risk assessments, and works closely with the Safety Supervisor to enforce compliance with OSHA 1994 and site safety rules. Additional duties include attending site meetings, liaising with consultants and client representatives, managing material requisitions, monitoring site equipment and plant usage, and ensuring that all work is carried out efficiently without compromising safety or quality.
Requirements: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution. A minimum of 1 year of working experience in construction or civil engineering projects is required, preferably in building works, infrastructure, or earthworks. Fresh graduates with strong internship experience may be considered for junior positions. Candidates must have good knowledge of construction methods, materials, and local building codes. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and basic survey instruments is essential. Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work under pressure, good communication in Bahasa Malaysia and English, and a valid driving license with own transport are required. Candidates must be willing to work at project sites and undertake relocation as needed.
