Supplying marine consumables, products, and solutions to every conceivable vessel type, our Marine Products division includes the Unitor brand of products, Timm ropes, Unicool refrigerants, and Unitor and Nalfleet marine chemicals. Last year we made product deliveries to 27,500 vessels, at over 2,000 ports.
This position reports to the Vice President Business Management and supports the directors in the Business Management team including, but not limited to Network Design, Global Inventory and Global Procurement.
Who you are :
You have the overall responsibility to proactively analyse the movement of goods through the supply chain, assess distribution centres' efficiency, inventory turnover, supply chain structure including freight costs, and based on this develop and maintain sophisticated optimization models as input to supply chain design. You are also expected to develop and maintain measurements for the Global Procurement function, to enable efficient procurement and monitoring of procurement spend.
Required experience and skills :
Master degree in engineering or economics.
Optimization experience beneficial.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
Familiar with logistics and production planning concepts and techniques (i.e. materials requirement planning).
Knowledge of sophisticated analytical tools and/or programming language used for optimization/simulation on large amounts of data.
Self-motivated/self-driven.
Practical business sense and problem-solving skills.
Good interpersonal, influencing and networking skills.
What you will be doing :
Analysis of flow of goods, inventory, service levels, freight lanes/freight costs.
Build/maintain optimization models capable of simulating effects of possible changes to network design.
Analysis of procurement data, establishment/maintenance of procurement KPIs.
Gather and interpret relevant data (costs, productivity, demand patterns, etc.). Investigate problems, find root causes, and develop solutions.
Key resource on Supply Chain key performance indicators and metrics to evaluate supply chain and performance (includes ad-hoc and periodical reporting) including Inventory Management.
Be an expert of systems and tools applied in our Supply Chain.
Control and maintain Supply Chain basic data in systems and tools.
Analyse and ensure clean-up of the monthly intercompany transactions outstanding.
Participate in projects to provide supply chain related input to new business areas/concepts.
