Our client is an established global automotive brand with offices in many countries around the globe. In Malaysia, they are one of the leading automotive brand and they are looking for a Health & Safety Manager to be based at their Shah Alam manufacturing plant.

As the Health & Safety Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of health and safety within the plant. You will work closely with management and employees to develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and standards. Your primary goal will be to create a culture of safety and promote a safe working environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with local and international regulations and standards
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
• Provide training and education to employees on health and safety protocols, emergency procedures, and accident prevention
• Investigate accidents and incidents, and develop reports with recommendations for prevention
• Maintain records of all health and safety activities, including incident reports, training records, and safety inspections
• Collaborate with management to identify and mitigate potential risks in the workplace
• Keep up-to-date with all relevant health and safety legislation and best practices, and ensure compliance
• Lead the company's emergency response team and coordinate emergency drills
• Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and participate in inspections and audits
• Conduct regular safety meetings and communicate any updates or changes in safety regulations to employees
• Manage the company's safety budget and ensure cost-effective solutions for safety initiatives

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a health and safety management role. Only candidates from manufacturing environment will be considered.
• Strong knowledge of local and international health and safety regulations and standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and educate employees at all levels
• Proven experience in conducting safety audits, investigations, and developing safety programs
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to work independently
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) certification is a plus
