About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Control Manager to lead our laboratory and quality assurance operations within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This is a leadership role responsible for ensuring the highest standards of product quality, regulatory compliance, laboratory performance, and Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) excellence.
The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement initiatives, lead a high-performing QC team, and play a critical role in maintaining operational excellence across laboratory and manufacturing activities.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control & Laboratory Management
- Lead and oversee all quality control activities involving raw materials, in-process testing, and finished product verification.
- Ensure analytical accuracy, data integrity, and effective implementation of Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies.
- Manage laboratory operations, ensuring equipment reliability, calibration, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
- Coordinate external accredited laboratory testing, including sample submission, result verification, and compliance monitoring.
- Support laboratory facility maintenance and coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and technical services.
- Investigate quality issues, deviations, customer complaints, and non-conformances, implementing effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
Compliance, Safety & Environmental Management
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Drive adherence to Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) standards across laboratory and manufacturing operations.
- Oversee environmental control systems including wastewater treatment facilities, scrubbers, Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems, and scheduled waste management.
- Participate actively in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Committee initiatives, workplace inspections, emergency response programs, permit-to-work (PTW) briefings, ventilation monitoring, and 6S activities.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Quality Control team to achieve operational and quality objectives.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams.
- Drive continuous improvement projects focused on quality enhancement, cost optimization, operational efficiency, and process reliability.
- Provide technical expertise and operational support to ensure uninterrupted laboratory and manufacturing activities.
- Support critical business operations and respond effectively during urgent operational situations when required.
Budget & Resource Management
- Manage departmental CAPEX and OPEX budgets.
- Monitor expenditures related to laboratory consumables, reagents, gases, spare parts, and equipment maintenance.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality and compliance.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Quality Control, Laboratory Operations, Quality Assurance, or Manufacturing environments.
- Prior experience managing laboratory teams and quality systems within a manufacturing setting is highly preferred.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of laboratory operations, analytical testing methods, and quality management systems.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
- Experience in root cause analysis, quality investigations, deviation management, and CAPA implementation.
- Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC), data analysis, and quality reporting.

Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
