The Role
This is a full-time position for an Associate Credit Data Scientist based at Tras HQ, Glenmarie, Shah Alam.
You will work closely with the Credit Data Scientist team in supporting credit risk modelling, policy development, portfolio analysis, and internal committee reporting. This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, data-driven, and passionate about transforming complex data into actionable business insights to support better underwriting and risk decisions.
What You’ll Do
- Support the development and maintenance of internal credit scoring models using non-traditional data to improve underwriting decisions
- Assist in integrating bureau models and alternative scoring solutions into internal risk assessment frameworks
- Conduct portfolio performance analysis including risk cohorts, trends, and predictive variables
- Extract, clean, validate, and analyse large datasets from multiple sources for business and risk insights
- Translate analytical findings into credit policies, underwriting guidelines, and strategic recommendations
- Support the design of pricing logic and eligibility criteria for different customer segments
- Perform ad-hoc analysis on emerging risk signals, application trends, and business performance
- Prepare monthly and ad-hoc reports for internal committees and management review
- Maintain reporting dashboards and ensure consistency across reporting cycles
- Compile and structure complex data into clear, committee-ready presentations and reports
What We Are Looking For
- 3–5 years of experience in Credit Risk, Data Science, Credit Analytics, or related fields within Banking, Fintech, or Automotive Financing
- Advanced proficiency in SQL for data extraction and management
- Hands-on experience with Python, R, SAS, or machine learning frameworks is an advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to present actionable insights clearly
- Experience in credit modelling, risk frameworks, or pricing strategy is highly regarded
- Familiarity with dashboarding and reporting tools for financial or operational analysis
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup or fintech environment
- Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, or related quantitative field
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Pay: RM2,800.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
