Requirements

• Commitment: Ability to commit to the full 1-year contract duration on a full-time basis.

• Availability: Willing to work early morning shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pastry Intern to join our pastry team on a 1-year full-time contract. This internship offers immersive, hands-on experience in a professional kitchen, working alongside skilled pastry chefs. Upon successful completion of the 1-year contract, high-performing interns will be offered a full-time employment opportunity within our company.

Key Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Assist in measuring ingredients, preparing batters, laminating doughs, and making fillings.

• Baking & Assembly: Monitor baking times, temperatures, and assist in assembling or decorating cakes and pastries.

• Station Maintenance: Keep work areas clean, sanitize tools, and organize walk-in chillers or dry storage.

• Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels of ingredients, report shortages, and assist in receiving deliveries.

Basic Skills Required

• Active Listening: Following precise recipe instructions and kitchen safety guidelines from senior chefs.

• Time Management: Meeting strict production schedules and preparing mis-en-place ahead of peak hours.

• Attention to Detail: Measuring ingredients accurately down to the gram for recipe consistency.

• Teamwork: Communicating clearly with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service and production flow.

• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long kitchen shifts and safely lift heavy baking trays or flour sacks.
