Qualifications

• Doctorate (PhD/DBA/EdD) preferred; Master's degree minimum in Education, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.

• Professional leadership or executive management qualifications are an advantage.
  

Experience

• Minimum 10–15 years of senior leadership experience.

• At least 5 years in an executive leadership role within a higher education institution.

• Proven experience in strategic planning, financial management, and institutional governance.

• Demonstrated success in student recruitment, business development, and organizational transformation.

1. Strategic Leadership

• Develop and implement the University's strategic plan.

• Lead institutional transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Identify new growth opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams.

• Ensure the institution achieves its long-term strategic objectives.

2. Governance & Compliance

• Report directly to the Board of Directors on institutional performance.

• Ensure compliance with Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), MQA, professional bodies, and statutory regulations.

• Develop and implement institutional policies and governance frameworks.

• Manage institutional risks and ensure effective corporate governance.

3. Academic Leadership

• Provide strategic oversight of academic quality and standards.

• Promote excellence in teaching, learning, research, and innovation.

• Support accreditation, programme development, and quality assurance initiatives.

• Encourage digital transformation and educational innovation.

4. Financial Management

• Develop and oversee annual budgets.

• Ensure financial sustainability and prudent resource management.

• Monitor institutional financial performance and cost optimization.

• Approve major expenditures and investments within delegated authority.

5. Business Development

• Develop strategies to increase student enrolment (local and international).

• Establish collaborations with industry, government agencies, and international institutions.

• Identify new educational programmes and commercial opportunities.

• Strengthen the University's brand and market position.

6. Human Capital Management

• Foster a high-performance organizational culture.

• Lead executive management and senior leadership teams.

• Oversee talent acquisition, succession planning, and leadership development.

• Promote employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.

7. Student Experience

• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and student-centred learning environment.

• Enhance student satisfaction, retention, employability, and graduate outcomes.

• Promote student welfare, support services, and extracurricular development.

8. External Relations

• Represent the institution in meetings with government agencies, regulators, industry partners, and international organizations.

• Build strategic alliances and institutional partnerships.

• Enhance stakeholder engagement and public relations.

9. Operational Excellence

• Oversee the effective management of all operational divisions.

• Ensure efficient utilization of institutional resources.

• Drive digitalization and operational improvements across departments.

• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor organizational performance.

10. Other Responsibilities

• Perform any other duties assigned by the Board of Directors.

• Act as the official spokesperson of the institution when required.
