Jobs Kreate is recruiting on behalf of a client for a shipboard Café Attendant position. The successful candidate will support food and beverage operations, maintain buffet and service areas, and provide friendly, efficient service to guests onboard.

Build your international hospitality career while sailing to exciting destinations across Europe, the Mediterranean, the Americas, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. The actual vessel, itinerary and sailing region will be assigned by the company based on operational requirements.

Important: Cruise ship grading may differ from land-based hospitality structures. Candidates may be offered a position one or two ranks below their current land-based role, subject to the cruise line’s assessment and operational requirements.

• Open to Malaysian and Singaporean citizens only.

• This is a full-time position. Part-time applications will not be considered.

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Buffet Steward, Café Attendant or in a similar position within a 4-star or 5-star hospitality or restaurant environment.

• Previous shipboard experience is an advantage.

• Able to work independently and support different food and beverage outlets.

• Physically fit and able to carry heavy items and stand, kneel or bend for extended periods.

• Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.

• Additional language abilities are an advantage.

• Flexible, able to work under pressure and committed to teamwork.

• Guest-focused and service-oriented with a professional appearance and high personal hygiene standards.

• Good knowledge of public health, sanitation and food safety requirements.

Salary

• Salary: USD 1,200

• Contract duration: 6 months

• Support assigned service stations by collecting and delivering food and beverages.

• Set up, monitor and replenish self-service buffet areas, condiments and service items.

• Ensure buffet items are correctly labelled and assist with food service when instructed.

• Support Waiters and Assistant Waiters during meal periods and other food and beverage operations.

• Serve beverages according to company service and responsible alcohol-serving procedures.

• Prepare service areas for cocktail parties, tea time and other special events.

• Ensure mise-en-place, equipment, glassware and flatware are clean and ready before service.

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation and equipment care.

• Assist with embarkation duties, guest support, luggage handling and storing activities when assigned.

• Follow all public health, environmental, safety, security, PPE and emergency procedures.

• Assist in other food and beverage outlets or departments when operationally required.
