About the role

Everrise Departmental Store Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Business Finance Assistant to join our dynamic team in Kuching, Sarawak. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role to support the organization in driving business performance management, contributing to strategic decision-making and enabling effective planning and budgeting. This role requires strong analytical skills and expertise in evaluating business performance and forecasting future outcomes to provide insights that influence decisions and help achieve the company’s financial objectives.

What you'll be doing

• Assist in the annual budgeting process, regularly perform variance analyses between actual results and forecasts/budgets to identify inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Analyze market trends to support and initiate strategic management decisions.
• Develop long-range financial plans and scenario models (including what-if and sensitivity analyses) to evaluate potential business outcomes.
• Identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and interpret financial and operational data to support informed management decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with overall business objectives and operations.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Preferably at least 1 year of relevant experience in business analysis, financial planning, data analytics, or computer science functions.
• Proficiency in Excel, including macros, with familiarity in Power BI and basic SQL coding skills considered an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
